Add-Ons
When creating a price plan you have the option to attach add-ons to the plan. These are additional upcharges you can issue your end customers while they’re on a subscription. An add on has a variety of different properties that affect the invoicing process; they are documented below.
In some cases you might want your customers to subscribe to more than one entity of an add on. For example, if you have an add-on “speakers” under the “Cars” price plan, you might want some customers to be able to subscribe to multiple “speakers,” so the quantity under the “speaker” add-on might be 2. In other cases, you want to prevent customers from subscribing to more than one quantity of an add on. This toggle controls that property.
Related to the above “quantity enabled,” when quantity is indeed enabled, sometimes you want customers to not be able to subscribe to more than a certain quantity of an add-on. This property controls that number. Screenshot of quantity and limit below:
This data represents the unit of time - in billing cycles - for the add-on’s price. For example, if the price frequency is 3, and the price plan period is “month,” and the add on price is $10, the two pieces of data together mean that the add on is $10 per three months. The price frequency toggle can be seen below:
This data represents how often - in billing cycles - we will charge for the add on. For example, if the charge frequency is 3, and the price plan period is month, we will charge for the add on every three billing cycles. Screenshot of charge frequency toggle below:
When an add on is flagged as immediately charge, that means that the invoice will be cut immediately when a customer is subscribed to this add on. When this flag is not enabled, the charge for the add on will be invoiced at the end of the billing cycle for in-arrears billing and at the beginning of the cycle for upfront billing
If an add-on is not single use, it is charged every billing cycle. If an add on is single use it’s charged in the first billing cycle and never again during the subscription. The single use toggle is below:
