Platform Fees

1min

Platform fees, sometimes referred to as the Base Price or Rate, represent the fundamental recurring expenses associated with utilizing your product. These fees are assessed during each billing cycle and cover the essential access costs to your product. Octane empowers you to configure these platform fees when constructing a price plan.

To add a platform fee, simply create a line item in your price plan and designate its type as "Base Rate." What sets Octane apart is the flexibility it offers in tailoring the billing frequency of this line item. You have the liberty to choose any multiple of the price plan frequency for the platform fees. For instance, you can opt to charge your usage-based components on a monthly basis while aligning your platform fees to an annual billing cycle, providing you with granular control over your pricing structure.
